Good Neighbor Policy
ROAD SAFETY
• We have one lane roads used by both incoming and outgoing traffic.
• Maximum speed of 15mph should be observed.
• Drivers should honk the horn at blind curves and hills and observe all traffic signs.
• No off-road motorized vehicles (e.g. ATV’s, motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc.) should be used for entertainment within Rosemary Beach; only as conveyances in and out.
• Approach speed bumps with caution. Do not drive around or off the road. This breaks the shoulder.
• Park vehicles (yours, guests’, workmen’s) on your property if possible.
• Parking at the beach stair turn-a-rounds is limited. Reduce congestion by walking to the beach, carpooling, or dropping off people and items.
• Vehicle ID Stickers are provided for residents’ vehicles as are Guest Cards for the dashes of guests’ and contractors’ vehicles.
• Do not discard cigarettes, cans, trash, etc. along roads or in woods.
FIRE SAFETY
• Open fires and incinerators are not permitted for any purpose (including burning leaves, debris, trash, etc.) on private or community property.
• Contained fires in BBQ grills, smokers, outdoor fireplaces, chimineas, etc. are permitted on private property but cannot be used for the purpose of burning leaves, debris, or trash.
• No fireworks or firecrackers may be discharged in areas outside of the beach. This includes private property.
BEACH SAFETY & COURTESY
• Swim at your own risk. Review rip current information signs located at beach stairs.
• Use the community stairs to access the beach. Do not walk, climb or play on the dunes as these are environmentally sensitive areas.
• Please do not set up chairs, etc. directly in front of the stairs as this makes access difficult. Large parties should move up or down the beach.
• Remove chairs etc. when not on the beach; do NOT attempt to reserve a spot.
• Loud music is prohibited; be courteous of others about tossing footballs, etc.
• Do not throw or roll firewood or heavy items down the beach stairs.
• No beach fires between the North and South Beach Stairs. Build beach fires near the shoreline, away from dune grass, watercraft, private belongings, and houses.
• Build beach fires by making a pit and only when wind conditions permit.
• No glass, metal, treated wood, lumber containing nails, etc. in beach fires.
• Beach fires should not be left unattended and should be thoroughly extinguished before departure. Completely bury ashes and coals.
• Fireworks and firecrackers must never be lighted, used near or pointed towards dune grass, people, pets, homes, private property, etc. and only used when conditions permit.
• End use of fireworks and firecrackers by midnight EST.
• Remove all firework and firecracker materials and debris before departing.
• All watercraft should be operated well away from the shoreline to the lakeside of the second sand bar.
• Do not launch or bring in motorized or other fast moving boats between the beach stairs. Boats can be manually pulled along the shoreline to their destination.
• Very small boats and private watercraft can be temporarily docked between the stairs.
• All watercraft must be brought to the base of the dune and secured by sunset.
• Users of all watercraft should keep distant from swimmers and others in the water.
• Fuel such as gasoline, propane, etc. should not be left on the beach.
• Dogs should not be left unattended and must be leashed. Dog poop must be picked-up and removed, not thrown into the water or buried.
• Remove trash (e.g. cigarette butts, cans etc.) when leaving the beach.
• Stack beach paraphernalia neatly next to community beach stairs when leaving.
• All beach paraphernalia must be removed at the end of the season or by Nov. 1.
FIREARMS AND HUNTING
• No hunting, including bow hunting, is allowed within common or private property.
• No firearms, including BB guns may be discharged within Rosemary Beach including common and private property.
OTHER GOOD POLICIES
• Do not trespass on private property.
• Dogs should be leashed and not left unattended while outdoors.
• Inform the Association of your intention to sell a cottage, house or property before putting it on the market.
• Keep noise at a level that does not disturb the peace of your neighbors, especially after dark (e.g., music, parties, firecrackers, yelling, etc. on private property, the beach, the stairs, the roads etc.).
• Between Memorial Day and September 15 deposit only household trash in the dumpsters. Large items should not be deposited in the dumpsters during this time. DO NOT LEAVE LARGE ITEMS OUTSIDE OF THE DUMPSTERS AT ANY TIME. Make sure that dumpster lids are closed.
• No flowers, plants or trees should be picked or removed from Rosemary Beach property except for invasives (e.g. Garlic Mustard).
• Respect other people’s belongings and do not use unless given permission.
